Largest order ever
Sweden: Fristad Plast AB has won the biggest order even in the company's history. The deal is against a German customer in the medical segment, which means sales of almost SEK 10 million for Fristad Plast only in 2020. The hundreds of millions of details of polypropylene will be produced in four multi-cavity tools.
Fire at Borealis
Sweden: May 9th a fire broke out in a compressor at Borealis cracker facility in Stenungsund. The cracker was immediately shut down and the rescue service was quickly in place to fight the fire. No person was injured in the fire
Sales record in corona times
Denmark: SP Group has set a new sales record for the first quarter of the year. Despite the pandemic, global concerns, market challenges and volatile commodity prices, SP Group managed to increase sales and operating profit once again.
Cable industry in crisis
Norway: A consequence of the corona pandemic could be that the Norwegian cable industry will lose 35 percent in 2020. This estimate is made by a Norwegian analysis company. In addition, the company does not believe that the cable market for the oil and gas sector will be normalized until 2023.
Record speed delivery
Sweden: Engel Sverige AB, 3Button Group and ABB gave immediate reasons when the Swedish manufacturer Tiki Safety AB decided to increase the company's production capacity of face masks. New machine, robot, automation equipment and production tools were in place within five weeks.
Ready for global expansion
Sweden: Reliefed Technology have raised 19 MSEK to make an international expansion possible. Reliefed´s extrusion solution upgrades existing extrusion equipment easily. It enables dynamic extrusion, where the products are also is formed longitudinally and not only in the cross-section.
New owner structure at Bogense
Denmark: Bogense Plast A/S, has a new ownership constellation since the April 1. The company's founder Freddy Tindhof has sold his shares to the current management - Per Grunddal Jørgensen, Anja Drewsen and Ib Jensen.
Trelleborg divests operations
Sweden: The Group has divested its business area Trelleborg Cast components with operations in Sweden and Estonia. Two of the operations are located in Sweden and one in Estonia. The new owners are the management of the respective operations
New head office
Denmark: Willbrandt Rubber Technology is building a brand new head office with warehouses and offices of over 2,000 square meters, with room for future growth.
Trioplast produce protective apron
Sweden: When Swedish healthcare became in urgent need of protective clothing, Trioplast rebuilt the machines that normally weld special bags, to weld protective equipment instead.
Close to bankruptcy
Sweden: The Swedish electric car company Uniti hopes for a rescue from bankruptcy through corporate restructuring. The company has canceled all payments and has been forced to confirm its inability to pay its debts.
Pamphlet about plastics
Sweden: In a new publication, Mistra, the Foundation for Environmental Strategic Research, wants to help to crush myths and highlight both problems and opportunities with plastic. The target is to increase the knowledge of plastics and show the complex advantages and disadvantages of the material.
